Road Closure – Burton Road (A5127) and Ash Tree Lane

posted in: Latest News | 0

Severn Trent Water will start work on 19 July 2016 along Burton Road (A5127), Streethay to ensure the sewer network is ready for the new Roman Heights housing development.  Burton Road will be closed between Trent Valley Island and the A38 with access only available to residents, businesses and emergency vehicles.  There will be no through route for vehicles or pedestrians between Burton Road and the A38 (north and southbound).  Work is due to last for 6 weeks, however the road will remain closed for a total of 12 weeks.  The additional 6 week closure will allow Amey Staffordshire Highways to carry out highway improvement work to support the new housing development.

Ash Tree Lane will be closed from its junction with Burton Road from 8 to 31 August 2016.  The only vehicles to be permitted access are those being used in connection with the works or for emergency purposes.  Alternative parking on Burton Road will be provided for residents.

A diversion route will be in place along Cappers Lane and the A38 to accommodate the Burton Road closure.
